The end-of-studies internship is often the last step before employment. Done well, it can turn into your first job. Here's how to find it and make the most of it.

Finding the right internship

As with apprenticeships, the key is anticipation. Target companies aligned with your project, prepare a polished application and activate your network. Our search method applies to internships too.

  • Use specialised platforms like SuperAlternant.
  • Dare to send spontaneous applications.
  • Reach out to your school's alumni.

Your allowance: your rights

Beyond two months of internship, a minimum allowance is mandatory. Some companies go further: don't hesitate to raise it, politely, when the offer comes.

Succeeding in your mission

Once you're in:

  1. Clarify expectations in the first week with your supervisor.
  2. Take notes and ask questions.
  3. Show yourself to be autonomous and reliable on your tasks.
  4. Ask regularly for feedback.

An intern who takes initiative and communicates well leaves a lasting impression.

Turning it into a job

As the end approaches, review things with your supervisor: express your interest in staying. Even without an immediate hire, a successful internship gives you a valuable recommendation and a network.
