An apprenticeship leads to a diploma or a qualification listed in the RNCP register and is mainly for people aged 16 to 29. A professionalisation contract leads to a vocational qualification and remains open beyond 29 in certain cases.
Apprenticeships are open from 16 up to and including 29, with no age limit for disabled workers, elite athletes, and people starting or taking over a business.
Both steps run in parallel. Many training centres accept an enrolment subject to a contract being signed, usually up to three months after the start of the academic year.
Yes. Browsing openings and training programmes is entirely free, and you apply directly to the employer or the training centre.

In her exclusive interview with Studyrama on 22 July 2026, minister delegate Sabrina Roubache confirms a downturn in the work-study market: -12% of job listings on Hellowork, training centres (CFA) forced to de-register students, and a 'maturity' effect of the model. Decoding the announcements (PLFSS 2026, hiring aid preserved for 2027, scrapping of the driving licence aid, restoration of the employee social contribution exemption) and the SuperAlternant 7-step method to adapt your search, target the right sectors, land an interview, and turn your financial arguments into a recruiting asset before the 2026 back-to-school and the delayed October 2026 intake.

Circular no. DGEFP/MOC/2026/30 of 17 February 2026 requires DREETS, DRIEETS and DEETS to devote at least 75% of their controls to CPF (personal training account) and apprenticeship in 2026 and 2027: full breakdown of the 6 priority areas, the risk-targeting criteria for CFAs, the official abandonment of the mass closure campaign announced in December 2025, and the SuperAlternant 5-step method to check whether your CFA is in the sights of inspectors — and protect your apprenticeship contract before the 2026 back-to-school.

Are you an apprentice and your salary feels tight? The prime d'activité can bring you up to €638.28 per month in 2026, and a CNAF instruction of 5 March 2026 (IT 2026-057) has eased the income-threshold check for mid-quarter status changes. Official amounts, eligibility conditions, step-by-step calculation, CAF simulator, stacking with apprenticeship and the method to file your quarterly declaration without errors, with SuperAlternant.
