- BTS — 2026 resit session: written exams from Monday 7 to Friday 11 September 2026, oral and practical exams from 14 to 25 September 2026, results from 7 October 2026 (published online at 10 am).
- DCG / DSCG — 2026 resit session: written exams from Monday 14 to Friday 18 September 2026, results from 13 October 2026.
- Who can register: only candidates able to justify a legitimate absence from the main May-June session (medical certificate, employment contract, administrative summons, etc.). Registration is not automatic: you must apply to the rectory of your exam academy, generally in July, after the June results are published.
- Cost: free for candidates already registered for the main session. No extra fee is charged for the resit session.

Who is allowed to sit the resit session?
The resit session is not open to all candidates. It is a backup session strictly framed by the regulations. To access it, you must meet two cumulative conditions:
1. Having been registered for the main May-June 2026 session
You must have submitted an application file for the BTS, DCG or DSCG for the 2026 session within the prescribed deadlines (generally between October and December 2025 via your institution or the rectory). Without prior registration, no file is admissible.
2. Justifying a legitimate absence from at least one exam
The reason for absence must be legitimate and supported by documents dated the day of the missed exam. The most frequently accepted reasons by the rectorats:
- Medical reason: medical certificate of sick leave or hospitalisation, mentioning the impossibility of attending the exam.
- Overriding professional reason: summons to a professional exam, urgent non-postponable mission attested by the employer (for example: a critical breakdown, a maintenance intervention on a customer site for a BTS Maintenance des systèmes alternant).
- Administrative or judicial summons: court appearance, hearing, mandatory administrative ceremony.
- Serious family event: death of a close relative (ascendant, descendant, spouse), with civil status proof.
- Force majeure: transport accident, natural disaster, exceptional event attested by the authorities.
⚠️ Important: the simple "impossibility to revise" or lack of preparation is not an acceptable reason. The rectorats check the supporting documents and reject undocumented files. If you have no supporting document, you will have to wait for the 2027 session to retake the exam.

Registration for the resit session is not automatic: you must actively request it from the rectory of your exam academy. Here is the proven method in 4 steps.
1. Identify your exam academy
It is the academy where you took (or should have taken) the main session, usually that of your training institution. If you sat your exams in another academy (delocalised exam centre), it is the latter that handles your file.
2. Prepare your application file
The file usually includes:
- A motivated letter addressed to the rector of the academy, precisely explaining the missed exam(s) and the reason for absence.
- The supporting documents dated the day of the missed exam: medical certificate with mention of sick leave, employer certificate, administrative summons, etc.
- A copy of your summons to the main session.
- Your valid ID.
- A specific form provided by the rectory (to request by email or download from the academy's website — "Exams and competitions" section).
3. Send the file within the deadlines
The rectory sets an imperative deadline, generally 30 days after the date of the missed exam or end of July 2026 at the latest. Beyond that, your file is rejected and you lose the benefit of the resit session. Anticipate: a registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt is recommended to keep proof.
4. Wait for the rectory's notification
The rectory notifies you by email or letter of its decision:

- Target the highest-coefficient exams. If you missed several exams, focus on the highest-coefficient ones. In the BTS, professional exams (E4, E5, E6 depending on the specialty) often weigh more than general subjects. In the DCG, UE 1 (introduction to law) and UE 4 (accounting) together account for 26 credits out of 180.
- Keep your absence documents for the future. Even if you succeed in September, keep your supporting documents for 2 years. In the event of a challenge by an employer or CFA, this is your best protection.
The special case of the alternant on a professionalisation contract
If you are on a professionalisation contract (and not an apprenticeship), the resit session follows the same exam-side rules, but your status differs slightly:
- The contract remains valid during the September session. Your employer does not have to terminate the contract if you fail again.
- Revision hours are treated as training hours and not as working time: they do not count as effective working time, but you keep being paid normally.
- The OPCO (Opérateur de Compétences) of your branch can cover additional training costs (registration with a prep course, corrected past papers) if your CFA requests it.
